Nevada Reading Week, Career Day, and Candlelighters 4th Annual Extraordinary Breakfast

Career Day Presentation

Allegiant Stadium staff presented at the 2023 Parson Elementary School Career Day, where students were able to learn what it’s like to work for Billboard and Pollstar’s 2022 top-grossing stadium in the world. This Title 1 school helps economically disadvantaged students have an equal opportunity to succeed academically. Students were excited to hear from Brandon Chambers, Director of Community Impact, and Tyler Walters, Guest Experience Manager, on the specifics of their job functions at the stadium. Over 200 students were exposed to new career possibilities and were inspired by the experience. Allegiant Stadium strives to be a pillar in the Las Vegas community and provide opportunities to the underserved youth of Southern Nevada.

Nevada Reading Week

This March, Allegiant Stadium worked with the City of Las Vegas and its literacy program to bring exciting and energetic reads to the underserved youth of Las Vegas. Nevada Reading Week has been celebrated for more than forty years, each year having a specific theme to reflect the spirit of the time. This year’s theme was “One World, Many Stories”. Allegiant Stadium staff participated in Nevada Reading Week by reading books related to the theme at C.C. Ronnow Elementary School, 1 of the 14 ReInvent Schools in Las Vegas, and in one of the Strong Start Go Mobile Pre-K buses. The ReInvent Schools Las Vegas program partners with families and community organizations to provide educational opportunities and support for students to improve outcomes for the community. The Strong Start Go Mobile Pre-K bus is a mobile classroom that allows families to obtain early learning at no cost.

Candlelighters 4th Annual Extraordinary Breakfast

On March 1st, Allegiant Stadium staff joined the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada for their 4th Annual Extraordinary Breakfast. The Extraordinary Breakfast is an opportunity for Candlelighters to recognize community partners, thank individuals, and provide potential supporters with insight into the services they provide to families. The annual event showcased the stories of children and families affected by childhood cancer, honoring those in the community who are a bright light during the darker moments in life. Allegiant Stadium staff attended the morning activities which consisted of celebration and inspiration, awarding everyday superheroes and selfless community partners who are an integral part of the extended Candlelighters family.
